![]() You will have more road noise - especially after they wear in some - and likely lower MPG but you will gain offroad and some snow capability (snow though, nothing beats a dedicated snow tire). A really good light truck all terrain like the BFG KO or General Grabber models or any one of a number from many manufacturers will help you a lot. If you have an S, you have the small wheels and that's a good thing since finding all terrains for the larger Escape wheels is a pain. Jeeps in the Cherokee is better, even in the lower level of it, but the Escape shows good capability. The "intelligent 4WD" system on the Escape is "reactive" rather than just on all the time - but it's still not bad. The single most important thing you can do is better tires. Spent time doing serious offroading back in the day.
